Conway-..Madge M. Davis-Sherman, age 78, wife of the late Raymond B. Sherman, of Hwy. 701 S., died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at her residence.

Madge was born in Warrenton, NC, a daughter of the late Robert G. Mitchell and Lucy Jane Lyles Mitchell. She was of the Baptist Faith. Madge was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and past Dept. President of the state of South Carolina. She was also a member of the All American Low Country Airborne, Canbane 974 of the 40 and 8.

Surviving are two sons, Michael S. Jones and wife Julie, and Phillip E. Jones all of Conway; three daughters, Gloria Wimmer of Sunset Beach, NC, Susan McKown of Goose Creek, and September Ponder and husband Gary of Mt. Pleasant; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one step-daughter, Martha Lee "Patty" Phillips of Walterboro.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday February 6, 2010 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Scott Enzor officiating.

Memorials are to be sent to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147, 968 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412 for Girls State fund.
