Conway-..James W. "Jim" Polatty, Jr., age 61, of Long Avenue Ext., died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Conway Medical Center.

Mr. Polatty was born in Greenwood, SC, a son of the late James Wilson Polatty, Sr. and Helen Crouch Polatty. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he formerly served as finance chairman and president of Methodist Men. Mr. Polatty was a member and past president of the Conway Rotary Club. He was co-owner and operator of Polatty Insurance and Investment Services and Carolina Insurance Group. Mr. Polatty was a Registered Representative with Centaurus Financial. He was a graduate of Clemson University where he was a long time member of IPTAY.

Surviving are his wife, De Lis Melton Polatty of Conway; one son, Frederick "Rick" Polatty and wife Leslie Barnes Polatty of Conway; three grandchildren, Andrew Walker Polatty, Wyatt Hartwell Polatty, and Grace Marie Polatty.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Hunsucker and Rev. Cheryl Adamson. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Greenwood, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
